Miami’s warm temperatures, fitness conscious locals and beach lifestyle lend to the perfect climate for a cool, refreshing (and midsection friendly) juice! Cold-pressed or “booster enhanced”, Miami Beach has no shortage of juice-centric watering holes. Below is a list of my personal favorites, not in order of preference… They all have their signature beverages and styles, adding flavor to a juice-enthusiasts hydration routine.
Juice and Java
This fabulous little gem specializes in cold-pressed juices, with elixirs ranging from Popeye’s Potion (spinach, carrots, celery, tomato and wheat grass) to the Hangover Cure (Apple, ginger, lemon). Their smoothies are equally as delish, and can be combined with a variety of protein powders, flax, yogourt or vitamin C. Juice and Java also serves health conscious sandwiches and salads, and best of all they deliver! Located at 1346 Washington, this is an ideal spot to stop by when heading to the beach.
Famous for its ridiculously tasty french prosciutto sandwiches and salads, this South Beach staple also serves phenomenal freshly squeezed shakes, smoothies, “energizers” and veggie juices! My personal favorite is the Acai smoothie, which is a heartier smoothie consisting of Acai, banana and apple juice (almost like a dessert). If you are craving something lighter, I highly recommend the Green Planet. Located less than two blocks from the beach at 220 14th Street, this outdoor cafe with misting fans is the perfect “pop-in” during your day at the beach.
Located South of Fifth, this Health Food Cafe specializes in smoothies and juices with a Central/South American flair. The uniqueness to Pura Vida’s selections is they offer single juices, with prices ranging from $4.95 to $6.95… A cucumber juice in a hot summer day will leave you felling cool as a…. Pura Vida also features an extensive Acai Smoothie menu, combining Acai with complimenting fruit juices and even soy milk. Pura Vida is located at 110 Washington Ave, and also serves lunch and dinner.
This Miami Staple has locations all across the 305, and has recently opened near Purdy Ave., on 1935 West Ave. Their juices, which come bottled, are prepared daily. My favorite juice is the Ya Fui Green, consisting of cucumber, romaine, spinach, dandelion, sunflower sprouts, parsley, lemon, and grey sea salt. The unique combinations make JugoFresh stand out from the typical juice bar, and also offers healthy and chef-crafted prepared foods.
Located just off of Alton Road and 17th St, Carrot Express serves several Kale Juice combinations which absolutely rock! They offer some of the more reasonable juice prices in South Beach as well, just under $6.00 for a 16 ounce juice. Power shots include Wheat Grass, Pineapple Ginger, and straight Ginger. Aside from the tasty juices and wraps Carrot Express delivers, they also offer free parking! They are located at 1755 Alton Road, and offer online ordering.
Under the Mango Tree
This Vegan cafe is located steps away from Miami Life Center, and serves a fantastic fit fare to health conscious locals. They typically serve 10 combinations of smoothies and recommend complimenting and add-ons, including Tumeric, Cocoa Powder, ginger and vegan protein. The neighborhood feel resonates with the juices served in mason jars, wooden cafe tables and chalkboard menu. Acai bowls also serviced fresh and always organic. Find this local gem at 714 6th street, Miami Beach.
