Miami is a spicy, melting pot of global cultures. With international diversity comes expansive culinary choices! What Miami lacks in driving skills, it makes up for in food. Miami’s restaurant scene is hot and only getting better as the city evolves! And to a foodies delight, cooking classes are ample in the tropical metropolis! Below is a list of cooking schools in Miami and South Florida that will inspire the inner Emeril in all of us.
Elenor teaches the art of wok cooking with simple ingredients common to her native Canton, China birthplace. All meals are paired with wine and Voss waters. The venues vary but are usually in the Design District, and the price is $85 per person.
Located in the infamous Biltmore hotel, culinary classes are offered for adults, children and corporate events. The academy focuses on gastronomy and culinary excellence. Adult classes cost $114 and child/parents $85 per pair.
Plant based personal chef Pamela Wasabi offers group classes with a health conscious focus. She uses organic, locally sourced produce, and offers tips on incorporating healthy eating into daily life. Private classes start at $200.
Ayesha offers a variety of Indian cooking classes, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus available. Classes are held in Ayesha’s kitchen, at 9105 SW 115th Terrace in Miami, and cost $85 per person.
Chef Jorgensen teaches cooking at his Two Chefs (8287 South Dixie Highway) twice a month in their private wine room. Cuisine is upscale steak-house, American cuisine with French influence.
Amber Antonelli teaches both private and group classes focused on health conscious cooking techniques using foods which maximize nutrient intake. Venues vary, and costs start at $78 Dollars.
The Real Food Academy focuses on superfoods, rich in nutritional content and constructed with healthy ingredients. Classes revolve around themes, sometimes holidays such as Valentines Day “Love On a Plate” menu, or the Chinese New Year recipe class. Classes are held in Miami Shores at 9612 NE 2nd Ave, and guests are welcome to BYOB. Cost is $50 per person.
With classes starting at $50 for members and $65 for non-members, menus vary in cuisine type, incloding Low Country Boils, Thai cuisine, and Kimchee classes. Registration is completed online and times vary. Fairchild Gardens are located at 10901 Old Cutler Road Coral Gables, FL 33456.
